Van V Hemphill co-founded Lakeshore Securities in 1982. Van is a Managing Partner
with the responsibility of overseeing the firm including marking and public relations. In 1982 Van managed
the execution, clearing and trading on the NYFE for Lakeshore and Wagner Stott.
Returning to the CBOE in 1985, Van was instrumental in enabling Lakeshore to offer
direct floor access for its customers.
Van has served on the Equity Floor Procedures Committee, and was the past
chairman of the Facilities Committee. Van has also served on the Membership Committee.
Van began his career on the AMEX in 1968 with L.D. Babcock. After joining Kaufmann,
Alsberg and Company, Van moved to Chicago in 1974 to represent the firm on the
CBOE. From 1978 to 1982 Van was an independent floorbroker in the IBM pit.
Van graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in 1968 with a BS Finance Degree.
